 “Chopard” company started its existence in workshop, producing pocket chronometers of Louis-Ulysse Chopard, founded in 1860. Already from 1920 his clock manufactory mastered production of exclusive expensive clocks, and from 1975 this constantly growing company started production of so-called “floating”, “free” diamonds.
The idea of non-fixed, “happy” diamonds (“happy diamonds”), freely moving between two sapphire glasses, was marked with many honored with many diplomas in the world of High Jeweler’s art and brought wide popularity to produce of “Happy Diamonds” women collection, which saw the light for the first time in 1976. Later this super popular trend continued its development in collections “Happy Sport», «Happy Spirit» and «So Happy».
Clocks of “Chopard” equipped with caliber L.U.C (in honor of Louis-Ulysse Chopard) time and again won prestigious awards “The Clock of the Year”, “The Discovery of the year” also became object of careful attention from professionals during the World clock exhibition in Basel (Baselworld).
From 1988 Chopard is sponsor of Mille Miglia rally, following Brescia-Rome- Brescia, where the winners get “Mille Miglia” clock as a gift. Moreover, Chopard supports Argentinean and Japanese competitions Mille Miglia, and also the race of Monterey in USA.
For already 8 years “Chopard” Company is official partner and sponsor of Cannes International Film Festival. In particular, it renewed the design of palm-branch, having created its new variant, also established award for innovation in cinematography.

“Chopard” House is a family enterprise, which is still governed by Carl Sheufel, who undertook patronage over the company in 1963 and his wife, Carine, and their children, Caroline and Carl-Fridrich, are vice-presidents who supervise jewelry and clock branches correspondingly. Members of the family are often on business trips all over the world, representing the company, which has boutiques in 50 countries of the world.
