Serov Aleksandr Nikolayevich was borne in 1954 in the village Kovalevka, Nikolayev region in Ukraine. He took a fancy to music being a schoolboy. He played in the school orchestra on alto. In 15 years, after picking up the song "Delilah" on the receiver he opened the surprising music world of Toma Jones music. Since that time destiny of Aleksandr Serov was predetermined. He mastered fortepiano himself, and entered musical school on class of clarinet.
In 1987 name of Aleksandr Serov vividly flared up at competition "Intertalant- 87", which was taking place in Prague. In this song tournament artists from twenty-five countries of the world took part. Singer from the Soviet Union received Grand-Prix. For the long-standing history of the competition such event occurred just for the second time. Presidential orchestra applauded to him, colleagues called him "Russian Tom Jones", and the foreign mass media wrote: "The star left the fog".
